on sunday, a group of us hired a cab to drive us to warangal, which is in the state of andhra pradesh, about 90 miles northeast from hyderabad. locals told us that the two hour ride was definitely worth it, and so four hours later, we found out for ourselves. yes, a supposedly two hour drive there turned into four hours. when i come back home, i'll be the most patient person i think.
we stopped in warangal and had lunch at this cute little restaurant called olive's--it even had A/C. woo hoo! then after lunch, we walked a couple blocks down to the temple site. the temple is dedicated to the hindu gods vishnu, shiva, and surya, each with their own shrines. there were also statues of ganesh (remover of obstacles, has an elephant head) and nandi (the bull that shiva rides). we just had to take off our shoes and we were able to explore the almost thousand year old temple.

who knows what they are planning to do with these precious pieces...?
on our way back to hyderabad, we saw an accident where a bus and a corn truck collided. corn on the road! then once we were entering the city, we saw people riding on a motorcycle, along with a GOAT. its belly was on the seat and its front hooves were dangling on the ride side of the bike and its back hooves were dangling on the left side. and you know what? we didn't really think anything of it really. normal
